Résumé

There are always social, economic, and emotional ties between the immigrant and his country of origin. Social institutions, such as the mosque and the school (Islamic center), play a key role in preserving these links. Based on a methodology that combines the quantitative and the qualitative, this article seeks to study Moroccan identity and culture in a constantly expanding migratory territory. It also examines the role of mosques and schools abroad in preserving identity and culture of origin. At the same time, it presents some challenges these institutions may encounter in carrying out these tasks for new generations.
